Keystone STAR 4A
Center Director: Louise Dawson
The Infant Friendship Center provides high quality early childhood education and care to children ages six weeks through five years. The Center offers a welcoming environment and an engaged teaching staff to build positive, nurturing relationships in a child’s early years. Infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-k programs are offered at the Center with supportive transitions into each program. Care begins at 7 a.m. and extends through 6 p.m. each day.
The program implements Teaching Strategies’ The Creative Curriculum and follows an age-appropriate, project based lesson plan. This curriculum also provides teachers with an observation tool so they can fully support each child’s individual learning and communicate any successes and challenges with parents. Daily activities include reading, circle time, outdoor play, and hands-on educational activities that create a balance of learning and play for students.
Infant Friendship Center participates in Keystone STARS, Pennsylvania’s quality assurance program for early childhood and school age programs, achieving a STAR 4A (out of 4) rating, and is recognized for its high quality care by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Infant Friendship Center accepts subsidy through CCIS.
Each day at MELC, you can expect that your child will walk into a happy and safe environment led by our highly qualified, energetic and friendly teachers.
